Son of Mr & Mrs L Pilcher of 26 Rock Road William died of wounds in hospital in France, He had been in an attack on an enemy positionand had been hit by machine gun fire. His father travelled to France to visit William in Hospital and was with him when he died. Before the war William worked for Mr Nokes of The Globe and Engine Public House.
